“Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life.” Proverbs 4:23
I recently started a course on growing into Christian maturity. The last lesson I went through talked about honesty. It encouraged me to become more open about my sin and to not be guarded with other brothers and sisters. I wondered if maybe these questions would be good for you to ask yourself, too.
I encourage you to get out a journal and your Bible. Ponder the verse in Proverbs 4:23 and answer the questions below.
I’ve been hearing a lot about secret sins coming to light this week. I pray we may repent and cling to our greatest hope. As Christians we should be the most honest people on earth. We have been set free from sins authority and can now say no to its enticings. Let us encourage one another and fight to love one another in the battle with sins presence.
What a place our churches would be if we put aside our “Super Hero” masks and became open about our sin. The cross yells that we aren’t perfect, so let’s cling to the one who is!
Feel free to leave a comment and discuss what you think!
How am I guarding my image more than my heart?
What secrets are holding me hostage?
Who would the Father have me confess the secrets to?
What can I confidently step toward, now that the enemy can no longer leverage these secrets against me?
The truth sets you free……
